A network-based image presentation system will be used during this conference.
The objective is to achieve a high and consistent standard of presentation.
Speakers preview room
The image test room is designed to enable you, as a speaker, to check your presentation before giving your talk. The computers in the image test room are identical to those in the auditoriums. All speakers must register for the image test no later than four hours before the session begins. It is of the utmost importance that you check your material, particularly if it contains audio or video files, or if the presentation was created on a Mac.
Once you have registered, you will be referred to a computer where you can upload and check your material that you have previously saved on a USB memory stick or CD-ROM. If you are using a CD-ROM, don’t forget to finalize/close the disc. If you don’t, it will be impossible to read the disc on any machine other than the one on which it was created. When you create the presentation, you should store all files, the presentation and any audio and video files in the same folder, and then copy the entire folder to your storage medium. It is a good idea, just in case, to store another copy in a different location from the original.
The program used is the standard installations of MS PowerPoint 2016.
Arrive in plenty of time ahead of the session. The technician in the session room will handle sound, lighting and images. He/she will start your presentation and you can then run it using a control box that allows you to page forward, backwards and, if necessary, to close down the image. A separate laser pointer is provided on the podium for use if you want to point to anything on the image. If you have more than one presentation or video, please tell the technician the order in which you wish to display your material.
If you are planning to show videos from a DVD medium, please tell the technician during the image test to make sure that this is possible in the auditorium in question.
We will do everything we can to ensure that your presentations are problem-free, but we would ask you to keep a back-up copy of your material available. Don’t forget to save all the files in a single folder.
If you experience any problems with any of the above, please contact a technician during the image test, allowing plenty of time for us to attempt to resolve the problem.
